CHEF SERIES: The magic of rare and lost heirloom Monday 24 February 2020
This experience is specifically designed for chefs, restaurant sourcing managers or buyers, enthusiastic home cooks and gardeners (OR anyone fascinated by heirloom varieties and flavours) who want to know more about the range of 130 rare and lost heirloom tomatoes from Tasmanian Natural Garlic & Tomatoes (TNGT). This is an in-depth farm experience, where participants venture through the tunnels to see tomatoes not commonly available, followed by a practical workshop on how to prepare and cook with different varieties and flavours. This workshop is led by Executive Chef David Ball, The Glass House Bar & Dining and Brooke Street Larder, Hobart.

Tasmanian Natural Garlic & Tomatoes was named Delicious Magazine’s 2019 State “From the Paddock” Winner, nominated by Australian Chefs. Their tomatoes have been featured on the menu in at NOMA Sydney and are being supplied to the top restaurants and chefs across Tasmania, Victoria & Sydney, NSW.
Join Tasmania's most prolific heirloom tomato horticulturists, Annette and Neville Reed on this incredible and fascinating experience exploring the culinary history and development of the Tomato.
Shorter (2.5 hour) Tomato tunnel & tasting flight experiences are open to the public weekly for a short season until mid April approx.

TNGT is located in Selbourne, Tasmania. Only 2:45 hours drive from Hobart or 30 minutes drive from Launceston.
